AUM Showcases Support for Cospicua Regatta Club Ahead of Annual Race

The American University of Malta is proud to show their support for the Cospicua Regatta Club as they gear up towards this year's annual race on 31st March.



The American University of Malta recently cemented its support for the Cospicua Regatta Club with a visit from Dr. Michel Najjar, Vice President Dr. Oussama Jadayel and Project Manager Eng. Raeid Ebaid to meet the committee members and other club affiliates in person at their premises. During the courtesy call, AUM administration were given an insightful tour around while being welcomed warmly by all those present in appreciation of past university involvement with them over years gone by - leaving no doubt that this dynamic relationship is here to stay!


The American University of Malta and the Cospicua Regatta Club have expressed a shared interest in collaborating to sustain Traditional Regatta as an integral part of Maltese culture. With their commitment towards this cause, both organisations are actively exploring ways which can help ensure that this time-honoured sport will endure through new developments and projects.



Dr. Michel Najjar, President of the American University of Malta declared that the institution stands in solidarity with local community NGOs and events which are dedicated to preserving Maltese traditional culture and historical legacy.

As major stakeholders in the community, we feel that we need to support the community as much as possible. We look forward to continuing to enhance this collaboration and to launch more initiatives in the future. My sincere best of luck to the Cospicua Regatta club for the next race!”


The Secretary General of the Cospicua Regatta Club, Mr Darren Scicluna said, “On behalf of the Club’s Administrative Committee and all our athletes, I would like to thank The American University of Malta for not only being one of our main sponsors throughout these last 6 years, where our Club won the majority of Regatta races, but also for helping the Community of our beloved City in many different ways.”


The concluding ceremony of the visit to Regatta Club was marked with a token of appreciation bestowed by its officials upon AUM Administrative staff. This kind gesture served as an acknowledgement for three consecutive years in which AUM had generously provided its invaluable support.
