20 and 21 June 2019 The Embassy of Austria in Malta and Teatru Manoel present a fantastic double bill featuring the young dynamic and charismatic ensemble Trio Immersio from Vienna.
Founded in 2013 the trio (Vira Zhuk, violin – Maria Vardzelashvili, piano – Nemanja Stanković, cello) have already won prestigious prizes and were awarded the title of New Austrian Music Ambassadors for 2018/2019. The ensemble is praised for its deeply moving, imaginative and colorful dedication to Austrian music.
A style that is globally appreciated has taken the musicians international venues such as Musikverein Wien, Wiener Konzerthaus, Flagey Brussels, CRR Concer Salonu in Istanbul, and Cathage festival among others.
Now they are honoured to take the stage at Teatru Manoel. As violist Vira Zhuk says .
"We are very excited to bring some of our absolute favorite pieces to Malta. We invite you on a two-evening journey through time and space from 19th century to modern days, where we will visit both historical and modern Vienna, with important stops in 20th century Moscow and Buenos-Aires."
The first night is dedicated to the beautiful Trio No. 2 E-flat Major by Schubert, followed by his well-known Notturno and Shostakovich’s Trio no. 2 in E minor. During the second night the ensemble combines Brahms Trio no 1, with six heavy metal based miniatures called “Schlechtecharackterstücke” by Bernard Gander and The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires by Piazzolla.
In short, perfect ingredients for two great nights, full of different emotions and flavours and certainly not to be missed!
